6 June, 9am – Ed Gitlin – Special interview and book signing event – Ed served a an infantryman with the 100th Division in Europe during WWII. During fighting related to the Battle of the Bulge, Ed and other soldiers were captured by the Germans and suffered through two POW camps before final release by the Russians. He has an inspiring story of courage, sacrifice, survival and resilience. Also will have a brief commemoration of the D-Day landings in Normandy.
FLAG DAY CEREMONY
Celebrated Saturday June 13th 10am
This ceremony held in conjunction with the North Metro Fire District, retires flags from the Broomfield Community which have been dropped off to the museum. An official ceremony according to military tradition is held and flags are retired with assistance of museum staff, community members, and firefighters. If you have a flag to be retired, please feel free to drop it off at the museum, or watch for official collection times in the Broomfield Enterprise one month in advance of the ceremony.

Coffee and Conversation
The Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum will be hosting Coffee and Conversation with guest speakers from 9–11 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. The public is invited to hear veterans share their stories over coffee and light refreshments in an informal setting at the museum.
There will be an opportunity to watch short videos, learn about the broader context of the military conflict they were engaged in, and ask questions of the speaker and other veterans. Afterwards visitors can tour the museum or research the topics discussed in the museum’s library. The talks are free of charge.
